Indian film producers have a habit of releasing films during festival season. One of the reasons is that it contributes to heavy box office collections and the makers can recover the money they have invested in the project.

Stree 2 was one of the most awaited films of this year. Maddock Supernatural Universe has always brought some unique concepts for the audience, blending horror and comedy. It is a genre that has proved to be profitable. Notably, another film in this franchise, Munjya, also surprised trade experts this year with collections of more than Rs. 100 crores.
Stree 2 has also recorded the highest opening day records which has not been created by any Bollywood film so far. Even big-budget projects like Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan failed to sell more tickets on the day of its release, leading to a lot of loss for the makers.

There were doubts that Stree 2 might not be able to become a hit since it was clashing with two more films, Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein. However, it proved everyone wrong since it grabbed the first position in the clash.
2024 holds the record for bringing success to small films with a budget of somewhere between Rs. 20 to 50 crores. This has additionally proved that a film will work if there is a strong script and screenplay. Stree 2 has managed to entertain with its performances and one-liners.

Stree 2 features Rajkummar Rao in the lead, and it is his third film this year which received positive feedback. The actor has continued experimenting with different characters like he did in Srikanth and Mr. and Mrs. Mahi.
Talking about the second lead Shradhha Kapoor, she returned to the big screen almost a year after Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar. While audiences welcomed her glamorous avatar in the romantic comedy last year, they were satisfied with her simple look in Stree 2.
The collections are expected to break other records since Stree 2 got a long weekend for being released on Wednesday. On the other hand, Monday, August 19 also marks another holiday, which is Raksha Bandhan, and this would help Stree 2 to be named as one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of 2024.
