Supernatural Thriller Turns TV Serial? Big Brand Quits?

The Vvaan starring Sidharth Malhotra

Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s much-awaited folklore fantasy The Vvaan is reportedly undergoing a major transformation.

Sources are claiming that the film is currently being reshot, re-edited, and creatively reworked before its release.

The biggest development surrounding the project is the reported change in the creative team.

According to reports, the original direction team led by Deepak Mishra, along with TVF, is no longer controlling the project.

Niraj Kothari and Sahir Raza are now said to be supervising the edit and restructuring process under the guidance of Ektaa Kapoor.

TVF’s association was one of the biggest reasons behind the initial excitement around The Vvaan.

Known for creating grounded stories like Panchayat, Gullak, and Kota Factory, TVF brought a strong sense of credibility and fresh storytelling expectations to the project.

For many viewers, the combination of Sidharth Malhotra’s star appeal and TVF’s reputation suggested that The Vvaan could deliver something different in the fantasy genre.

However, the reported creative shift has raised questions among fans.

Some believe that removing TVF’s influence could change the original vision of the film and turn it into a more typical commercial entertainer.

There is growing speculation that the project may now carry a stronger Ektaa Kapoor-style approach.

That could move it away from the distinct identity that made audiences curious in the first place.

Reports also suggest that Sidharth Malhotra requested additional reshoots, including changes to the climax and action sequences.

Around 17 extra days of shooting are reportedly being added as the makers attempt to strengthen the film before its scheduled September 25 release.

The timing of these changes has also attracted attention.

The Vvaan has already faced several delays, moving from its original Chhath Puja 2025 release window to May 2026, then August 28, before settling on September 25.

While the official reason behind the delays has been extended post-production and VFX work, the latest reports indicate that the makers are still refining the final product.

Creative changes and reshoots are common in filmmaking, and they do not always indicate trouble.

Many successful films have undergone similar processes before release.

The big question now is whether these changes will elevate the film or dilute the very elements that made audiences excited about it.
