War 2 has turned into a major disappointment and the criticism is not only from fans but also from people within the team. Rajvir Ashar, the assistant director who worked on Pathaan and War 2, revealed that the film left him completely disheartened.
He expressed that it lacked both spectacle and emotional depth, and he even called it the weakest film in the YRF Spy Universe. His comments have amplified the growing concerns around the franchise, which was expected to deliver another blockbuster.
Although the film generated huge hype by casting Jr.NTR for its pan-Indian appeal, it failed to impress audiences. Viewers pointed out that the plot was weak, the action sequences were dull, the VFX looked substandard, and character arcs were poorly developed.
Many netizens felt that the only saving grace was “Lord Bobby,” whose presence added some excitement. They also criticised the overuse of Kiara’s bikini sequence, stating that it had no real impact when viewed in theatres.
The disappointment surrounding War 2 has also cast doubts on upcoming YRF Spy Universe projects such as Alpha featuring Sharvari and Alia Bhatt. As an experimental film with female leads, Alpha could face a tough reception if the negative sentiment continues.
