Advance booking numbers for 2025 have brought surprising results. Hollywood horror film The Conjuring 4 has taken the top spot, selling 2,27,000 tickets across India.
It narrowly beat Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama Chhaava, which has clocked 2,23,000 tickets in early sales. This marks a rare instance of a Hollywood film leading over major Indian titles.
In the action space, Baaghi 4 starring Tiger Shroff has outpaced the much-anticipated War 2. While Baaghi 4 recorded 1,55,000 tickets, War 2—featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR—stood close at 1,53,000.
Salman Khan’s Sikandar followed with 1,43,000 ticket sales. These three are currently dominating the action genre.
Among other notable entries, the comedy Housefull 5 opened with 94,750 tickets, and Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 started strong with 93,000 tickets booked in advance.
Some films are pushing bookings with low-price offers. Badass Ravikumar, featuring Himesh Reshammiya, has tickets starting at ₹149. Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency is priced as low as ₹99.
The mix of Hollywood, Bollywood, and local films signals a competitive and varied box office this year. Multiple genres and stars are in the race.
Early numbers suggest that 2025 will be an unpredictable and exciting year at the Indian box office.
