According to rumours, the movie is doing well both domestically and abroad, and it may even be released in Japan. The return of Mothra and the introduction of new characters, such as Skar from Hollow Earth, in the fifth instalment whetted fans’ appetites for the sequel. The future of the franchise might depend on how well the movie does.
A 43% decrease from the previous weekend’s earnings, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire earned $33.7 million on its third weekend worldwide, marking a global milestone. With $157.9 million coming from the US, the film has an international cume of $278.6 million across 72 markets.
It exceeds Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ $387.3 million worldwide run total and is predicted to top Godzilla vs. Kong’s $470.1 million the following weekend.
It is anticipated that the film would make between $550 million and $600 million worldwide. When the film debuted on April 26 in Japan, it surpassed all expectations.
