V. Hanumantha Rao’s birthday gesture for Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has caught the attention of political circles. The senior Congress leader hosted a birthday celebration at his residence and personally cut a cake for the Chief Minister.
There was a time when VH rarely missed an opportunity to question Revanth Reddy. When Revanth moved from the TDP to the Congress, VH was unhappy with the importance being given to him. He openly argued that long-time Congress leaders were being pushed aside to accommodate newcomers.
His objections became even louder when Revanth was made PCC president. He questioned the leadership choice and made his displeasure clear in public.
Coming to 2026, the same VH is now celebrating Revanth’s birthday at his residence. He wished the Chief Minister good health and a long life. He also expressed hope that Revanth would continue his work for Telangana.
Revanth’s victory in the 2023 Assembly elections transformed his position within the Congress. He went from being a leader facing resistance within the party to becoming the Chief Minister and its most powerful political face in the state.
VH’s appointment as a government adviser also brought the two leaders closer. Their current equation is clearly different from what it was a few years ago.
Revanth’s birthday also brought greetings from several prominent political leaders. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan were among those who wished him. Actor Chiranjeevi also extended his greetings.
