One of the most anticipated films from Hollywood, The Odyssey, which is directed by the insanely popular, Christopher Nolan has arrived in theatres today, July 17. The film has expectedly open to decent reviews all over.
However, if we come to the early reaction from the Telugu youth on this action epic, it is a mixed back.
A section argues that the filmmaking is too conveniently paced and the film itself has a lot of lag with many episodes dragged out of proportion. They are commenting that this film does not make for a satisfactory viewing experience to the traditional Telugu folk.
At the same time, there is this opposing group, which is saying that this film is an absolute masterpiece for everything it has to offer. They are commenting that Christopher Nolan has out done their expectations and delivered a resounding theatrical experience.
There is another point that is to be kept in mind here as the legacy of Christopher Nolan is so superior that a commentator might think twice before posting that this film is bad. So at least in the fear of getting judged, many people will call it an absolute masterpiece.
Whatever might be the outcome, it is good to see the film register exceptionally good occupancies in the Telugu states and its opening day which is a positive sign. We have to see how it would hold over the weekend with the mixed reviews that it was able to generate.
