While many of the top celebs from Tollywood who have strong roots in Chennai are yet to respond to the pitiable conditions in Chennai, here comes another celeb from Bollywood after Shahrukh and Hrithik Roshan to donate for the relief work going on in rain affected areas in Chennai.

Bollywood action hero Akshay Kumar donated Rs.1 crore to the Chennai relief works through Bhoomika Trust. The star hero was concerned about the people of Chennai though he has no connection with Chennai. He is presently doing a movie with AR.Murugadoss and had earlier done movies with Priyadarshan through whom he got connected to Suhasini Maniratnam regarding the relief work.
The actor showed his big heart even for the farmers of Maharashtra who committed suicides because of the drought conditions prevailing. On his Twitter note, he hoped for bright and sunny days for the people of Chennai.
