Aishwarya Lekshmi has finally addressed the outfit controversy that flaunted her cleavage at a diamond jeweler exhibition in Thiruvananthapuram earlier this year.
In May 2026, the actress attended the event in a dress that attracted heavy trolling on social media. Much of the discussion focused on her neckline and cleavage. Some people questioned her choice of outfit and even commented on her body language.
In recent interviews with Rajini Haridas and others, Aishwarya said she was comfortable with the dress she had chosen. What upset her was the way some photographers were taking pictures.
According to Aishwarya Lekshmi, the cameras were not focusing on her face. Instead, some photographers were using uncomfortable and invasive angles that focused heavily on her body. She said this made her feel that her personal space had been violated.
Aishwarya also questioned the larger debate around women’s clothing.
“Is culture only in a woman’s cleavage or the length of her dress? It is also in the way we behave, right?” she asked.
She pointed out that society is often quick to judge what women wear while ignoring inappropriate comments and behavior directed at women.
“Why should my cleavage be subjected to such intense discussion? Why can’t we discuss our GDP, or how many old parents are being abandoned?” she said.
However, on social media, her arguments received mixed feedback. Most of the people said that if she openly flaunts her beauty, it is natural for paps to capture her cleavage in full glory from all angles. One social media user mocked Aishwarya’s argument by comparing her complaint about photographers to someone leaving their house open and then questioning why thieves entered it.
