Akhil Akkineni’s much-awaited Agent has finally been released today amid high expectations. The film, directed by Surender Reddy, is expected to end Akhil’s flop streak and become the first solo success in his career.
‘Agent’ was always planned and projected as a pan-India film to be released in multiple languages like Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam. But due to various reasons, delays, and time limitations, the film couldn’t make it in any other language except Telugu and Malayalam.
The makers gave the Malayalam version more preference than other languages, as the film stars Malayalam superstar Mammootty in a key role in the film. The makers didn’t want to lose out on cashing the craze of Mamukka in Malayalam, and hence they ensured Agent got released in Malayalam.
Recently Mammootty also shared a glimpse of his dubbing session for the movie. He plays the role of RAW Chief Colonel Major Mahadevan in the film.
This will be Akhil’s first release in Kerala, and it will be interesting to see how Agent will fare in its Malayalam version.
