Nandamuri Balakrishna and Koratala Siva’s NBK112 is one of the most interesting projects being planned in Tollywood right now, as fans want to know what Koratala is going to cook with Balakrishna. The latest industry buzz suggests that the makers have approached Tamil actor Arya to play a powerful police officer. The role is reportedly not just a routine side character and could even trigger a massive twist in the narrative.
If Arya comes on board, the interesting part will be his equation with Balakrishna’s character. Will they work together? Will they find themselves on opposite sides? Or will Arya’s character enter the story at a crucial point and completely change the direction of the plot? Koratala Siva is known for building conflicts around powerful characters. Balakrishna’s mass presence and Arya’s intensity could make their combination particularly interesting if the writing gives both characters enough weight.
Arya is also not an unfamiliar face to Telugu audiences. He played the villain in Allu Arjun’s Varudu, which arrived with huge expectations but became a massive disaster and remains one of the biggest setbacks in Allu Arjun’s career. It also severely damaged director Gunasekhar’s career. Arya’s other films in Telugu, like Size Zero and Saindhav, also flopped badly.
NBK112 was launched in Amaravati in June, and the regular shoot is expected to begin only after Balakrishna completes NBK111, tentatively titled Dada, with Gopichand Malineni. Sathyan Sooryan is handling cinematography, with SLV Cinemas and Yuvasudha Arts backing the project.
For now, there is no official confirmation about Arya’s casting. But if Koratala manages to give him a strong and memorable police character, NBK112 could also give Arya a good opportunity to make a comeback in Tollywood.
After his earlier Telugu films ended in disasters, this could be an interesting second innings for Arya in Tollywood.
