August could prove to be one of the most important months in the careers of Varun Tej and Ravi Teja.

For Varun Tej, the pressure is immense. Once seen as one of the most promising heroes after hits like Fidaa, Tholi Prema, and F2, his career lost momentum due to poor script choices. Big-budget experiments like Ghani and Matka ended up as major box office disasters, severely affecting his market. That is why Korean Kanakaraju has become a do-or-die film for him.
Ravi Teja has also been struggling to deliver a genuine box office winner for quite some time. A series of utterly bad films has hurt his credibility, and a section of the audience has gradually stopped turning up for his movies in theatres. More than just collections, Ravi Teja now needs to regain the trust of moviegoers. That makes Irumudi one of the most important films of his recent career.
The film has generated a much better pre-release vibe than many of Ravi Teja‘s recent outings. Its devotional backdrop also offers something different from the routine commercial entertainers that audiences have increasingly rejected over the last few years. However, it is still too early to celebrate.
Telugu audiences have repeatedly shown that impressive posters, teasers, and interesting concepts mean very little if the final product fails to deliver. Several films have enjoyed strong pre-release buzz in recent times, only to collapse after release because the content did not live up to expectations.
Another key question is whether the devotional angle is genuinely integral to the story or merely being used as a marketing hook to attract audiences. That answer will only emerge once the film hits theatres.
