Ajay Devgn BholaaAjay Devgn has come up with his ambitious action entertainer, Bholaa, a remake of the Tamil hit Kaithi. The trade was expecting that Bholaa would rake in huge collections as it is a mass-friendly film, and also, yesterday was a holiday (Ramnavami). The film was expected to collect somewhere around 16-18 crores which would have been a decent figure in the post-pandemic era.

But the film didn’t perform despite being a holiday. The response was fair in mass pockets, but the collections in Mumbai, Delhi NCR, and South are weak. The early estimates suggest that the film has collected 10-11 crores on its first day. The film wouldn’t have touched double digits if not for the high ticket prices for the 3D and 4DX versions.

Ten years back, on the same date (29th March), Ajay Devgn’s Himmatwala had released. The film opened to disastrous reviews and terrible talk. But still, that film collected around 12 crores on its first day. This figure tells us how badly Bholaa has underperformed.

Bholaa is an expensive film made with a budget of over 100 crores. We have to see if Bholaa picks up over the weekend or if it will face a drop in the coming days. Saturday and Sunday collections would give clarity if the film will at least be an average affair at the box office.
