Bholaa Shankar: Unexpected Blame

Bholaa ShankarChiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar, an official remake of the 2015 Tamil film Vedalam, is all set to release on August 11, but the buzz is nowhere near what is expected for a Megastar’s film.

While many attribute the low buzz to it being a remake issue, there is another observation that makes sense as well.

None of the songs in the Megastar’s film have connected with even the hardcore mega fans. Each song competes with another in the album for outdatedness.

It is rare for a Chiranjeevi film to not have at least one or two hit songs, as Chiru fans always find satisfaction through songs and dances. But in Bhola Shankar, not even one number clicked well.

It is a fair argument to say that it has utterly failed to grasp the attention of the audience. This is reflected in the bookings in the USA which opened well in advance. Nowadays, a song or two must strike a chord to impact the movie openings.

The songs were composed by Mahati Swara Sagar (son of Mani Sharma), and fans are requesting the makers to involve Mani Sharma for the BGM at least.
