A report claiming that the Andhra Pradesh government had held discussions with Megastar Chiranjeevi to make him the state’s official Brand Ambassador has been doing the rounds on social media since yesterday.
The speculation suggested that Chiranjeevi would play a role similar to Amitabh Bachchan’s long-running association with the Gujarat Tourism campaign.
However, the rumors have now been officially denied. Team Megastar Chiranjeevi has issued a clarification, calling the reports completely false.
In a statement shared on social media, the team outrightly rejected the news and wrote:
“FAKE NEWS ALERT: DON’T BELIEVE OR SPREAD ANY RUMOURS regarding Megastar Chiranjeevi Garu becoming the official Brand Ambassador of Andhra Pradesh. Please refrain from sharing or amplifying such unverified and FAKE information.”
With this clarification, the speculation surrounding Chiranjeevi’s reported appointment has effectively been put to rest.
The rumor had gained traction because many felt Chiranjeevi’s stature and clean public image made him a natural choice to promote Andhra Pradesh on a national and global stage. However, there appear to have been no such discussions, at least according to the actor’s team.
For now, Team Chiranjeevi has made its position clear. There is no truth to the reports about the Megastar becoming Andhra Pradesh’s official Brand Ambassador.
