Demon Slayer movie Infinity Castle India craze

A Japanese anime film is creating history in India with its massive advance bookings. The excitement around Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba-The Movie: Infinity Castle has stunned trade experts and fans alike.

The film has already sold more than 1,35,000 tickets across major theatre chains in India. Out of these, PVR Inox accounted for 90,000 and Cinepolis sold 45,000 tickets. This is a record-breaking pre-release response for 2025.

What makes the craze more special is that the film still has two days before its release. Reports confirm that theatres are planning round-the-clock screenings, with some shows beginning as early as 4 AM and others at midnight.

Only a few films have witnessed such demand in India. Movies like Avengers: Endgame (2019) and Oppenheimer (2023) had similar midnight and early-morning screenings. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba-The Movie: Infinity Castle is now the first Japanese film to achieve such a milestone.

Trade experts predict that the film may cross 20 crores during its opening weekend. This level of craze is greater than even major Hollywood releases such as The Conjuring and Mission Impossible.

The popularity of Japanese anime has been rising in India for years. The Demon Slayer franchise has been at the forefront of this growth. Its first film, Mugen Train, performed exceptionally well despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The passionate fandom of anime has made this possible. For Indian anime lovers, this moment feels like a dream finally becoming reality.
