The film industry often faces cases of fraudulent activities and misdemeanour. We now have one such story in development involving a reasonably reputed director who is caught in fraud case now.
This director is named Ashok Babu and he made two successful films, namely Bhagamathie with Anushka and Pilla Zamindar with Nani. He has now been called for police investigation and connection with a fraudulent financial transaction case.
The father of the victim, Hanumantha Rao has approached Hyderabad Police saying that this Director Ashok has cheated his son by taking his money in the guise of producing a film.
Apparently, this Director had promised to make a film with the victim as the Hero and he charged up to ₹3.5 crore from the family, saying he’s busy with the production and filmmaking process. But in the end, he did not deliver on his promise, and the family grew suspicious.
The victim’s father stated that the director and producer Vijayalakshmi did not start the film and did not return their money either. So they were left with no other option, but to approach the police and they did the same today.
The Hyderabad police have called Director Ashok and the producer of this film for investigation and more details are likely to emerge in the next few days. It is sad to see one of the talented filmmakers who made reasonably good films committing such fraudulent activities and cheating common folk.
