Diwali 2026 is quietly turning into a busy box-office weekend for South cinema. Telugu cinema may not have a major Telugu star hero films arriving this Diwali, but the Telugu market will still have plenty to choose from, with Ramayana, Suriya’s Scene and Nayanthara’s Mahasakthi among the notable releases.
A few smaller Telugu films, including Itlu Arjuna, Summer Holidays and Hatah, are also scheduled for November 6. While they may not match the scale of the bigger films, they will still be fighting for screens and festive audiences.
Tamil cinema is preparing for an even bigger clash. Suriya’s Scene, directed by Jithu Madhavan, and Nayanthara’s Mookuthi Amman 2 are releasing on November 6, while Prabhu Deva’s Moonwalk and Vijay Antony’s Appa Kutti are also part of the Diwali lineup.
But the biggest attraction could be Ramayana. Nitesh Tiwari’s epic arrives on November 5, with Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Yash as Ravana. Its multi-language release puts it directly in the mix across the South.
With Ramayana bringing scale, Suriya bringing star power and several smaller films fighting for their share, Diwali 2026 could become a fascinating battle for screens and audience attention.
