Jana Nayagan’s BIG Twist: Was It Vijay’s Decision?

Vijay in Jana Nayagan

Finally, after 7 months of struggle, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay‘s final film Jana Nayagan directed by H Vinoth is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on July 23rd. With only a few days left until the release, the pre-bookings for the film are now happening at a fast pace.

While everyone knows the fact that Vijay’s Jana Nayagan is an official remake of Balakrishna’s Bhagavanth Kesari, many people had doubts about whether Jana Nayagan is a scene by scene remake of Bhagavanth Kesari or if the makers of Jana Nayagan only took the plot from Bhagavanth Kesari and made a completely different screenplay.

In response to this confusion, H Vinoth has finally clarified it in his recent interviews. He stated that Jana Nayagan is 50% of Bhagavanth Kesari and while the first half of Jana Nayagan will have 60% of Bhagavanth Kesari, the second half will have another 20% of Bhagavanth Kesari.

Furthermore, he mentioned that when he asked Vijay why he wanted to do a remake of Bhagavanth Kesari instead of doing an original film, Vijay reportedly explained to him scene by scene why he liked Bhagavanth Kesari so much. He claimed that because Vijay is very much into women’s empowerment, he loved Bhagavanth Kesari very much.

In the same interview, he clarified that he had initially narrated a different script to Vijay for his final film, featuring a plot about two different-minded people. But Vijay reportedly said that the script was too heavy and asked Vinoth himself to work on the remake of Bhagavanth Kesari. He concluded the topic by stating that this is how Jana Nayagan materialised, and it was completely Vijay’s call to do the remake of Bhagavanth Kesari.

Following these statements from the director, many people on social media are suggesting that it seems like H Vinoth is trying to play a safe game by pointing out that Vijay was the major reason behind the entire Jana Nayagan movie. They feel that he made these comments in public just to protect himself from trolls in case Jana Nayagan does not satisfy expectations upon its release.

However, H Vinoth’s comments regarding the reason behind doing Bhagavanth Kesari’s remake as Vijay’s final film are now going viral on social media and many people are sharing their reactions to them.
