‘Joru’ to bank on confusion comedy!

They take great pride in quoting Shakespeare’s works, characters and dialogues and relate them to present day situations and works. His great works like ‘The Comedy of Errors’ and ‘Twefth Night’ bank totally on mistaken identities and the comedy that arises of such situations.

Sandeep Kishan’s upcoming movie ‘Joru’ seems to be in lines of Shakespearean style of mistaken identities and the confused humor that arises between characters. Like in the Bard’s ‘The Comedy of Errors’, Sandeep Kishan’s movie also has three heroines’ characters playing the same role ‘Annapurna’. Added to this confusion, Sandeep has two sets of parents in the movie.

Coming to Indian film makers, Malayalam director Priyadarshan proved his mettle at dealing with confusion comedy of mistaken identities. This kind of confusion comedies aren’t new to Telugu audience. Nagarjuna played dual roles in ‘Hello Brother’ which also benefited on this kind of confusion. In fact, right from senior NTR’s ‘Ramudu Bheemudu’ to many recent movies, heroes or heroines playing dual roles come under this genre. This time it is not the hero’s character but the other crucial characters which form the reason for confusion in ‘Joru’.
