After delivering Akhil Akkineni’s first genuine box office success with Lenin, director Murali Kishor has reportedly shifted his focus to his next project. According to industry buzz, the film will once again be backed by Sithara Entertainments.
Interestingly, reports suggest that Murali Kishor had narrated this story to the production house even before Lenin was released. The makers were said to be impressed with the script and have reportedly given it the green signal. Pre-production is expected to begin once the lead actor is finalized.
Like Lenin, the new film is also said to be set against a rural backdrop. However, sources claim the similarities end there. The story, characters, and emotions are said to be completely different, with Murali Kishor aiming to present another rooted yet fresh drama.
According to reports, Murali Kishor is keen on bringing Dhanush on board. The director reportedly feels that Dhanush’s natural acting style and proven success in rural-based dramas make him the ideal choice for the role. Films like Asuran and Karnan have already established Dhanush as one of the most convincing actors in such settings.
The National Award-winning actor has a packed lineup across Tamil and Hindi cinema, and his dates are in high demand. Whether he can accommodate another Telugu project remains to be seen. If not, the makers are expected to explore other options.
For Murali Kishor, this will be an important film. Lenin proved that he could handle a rooted commercial entertainer and gave Akhil Akkineni the first hit of his career after a decade-long struggle. Naturally, expectations for his next film are much higher.
