Virat Karrna’s mythological grandeur Nagabandham, directed by Abhishek Nama, is running successfully in theatres. The team shared that the movie has witnessed a noticeable jump in collections after its opening day, during the success meet.
Producer Kishore Annapureddy expressed gratitude to audiences for making the film a commercial success. Producer Nishitha said the intention was to bring the essence of Sanatana Dharma to the younger generation while honoring the sacrifices made by elders.
Director Abhishek Nama acknowledged that every film offers lessons and said the team promptly responded to audience feedback by trimming the runtime and removing portions that affected the film’s pace. He emphasized that Nagabandham is rooted in historical events and not merely fictional storytelling. Recalling the two-year effort behind the project, he appealed for support toward new filmmakers and emerging talent who have taken on an ambitious subject.
“Nagabandham is not a fictional story. In 1747, Afghan invaders attacked India and devastated Madurai. Adi Shankaracharya formed the Naga Sadhus to protect Indian temples. This is a historical fact. Countless Hindus were brutally killed, and such persecution has continued through history. I hope everyone supports this film.”
Hero Virat Karrna credited the audience for giving confidence to a team of newcomers who attempted a large-scale film with conviction. He said many viewers have been visibly moved during devotional moments, with emotional reactions inside theatres reinforcing the film’s impact.
While stating that criticism is welcome, he appealed that audiences should be allowed to decide the film’s fate themselves. Pointing to the encouraging bookings, positive word of mouth, and support from family audiences across languages, Virat expressed hope that the film would continue its successful theatrical run in the coming days.
