At one point of his career, Nani started doing Tamil films along with Telugu films. It was the time when he was going through a lean phase in TFI. But now he took a conscious decision to stop doing Tamil films. Why?

According to Nani, his Tamil films didn’t help to his career and even Telugu audiences couldn’t connect to the roles which had Tamil flavor and came with bad lip sink in their Telugu versions. This made the matters worse for him during that bad phase.
He didn’t get good scripts and also the directors he wanted to work with. Nani wanted to be a Mani Ratnam’s hero or a Goutham Menon hero. But such scripts never came his way. Tamil films had been a learning experience for Nani who now understands his strengths and weaknesses better.
Presently, Nani is game for a bilingual but not a straight Tamil film anytime soon.
