Netflix Shocker: Peddi First Week OTT Numbers Disappoint

Peddi first week Netflix viewership compared with Ikka and Blast

Netflix has released its official weekly viewing statistics, and the first week numbers for Peddi are now out. The results are quite surprising.

Despite an aggressive promotional campaign in North India ahead of its release, including multiple high profile events, Ram Charan’s Peddi has posted a disappointing start on Netflix. The film began streaming a week ago, but its official viewing numbers are far below expectations.

The biggest surprise is that Sunny Deol’s Ikka, an OTT original, has comfortably outperformed Peddi. In its first week, Ikka recorded 4.4 million views and 10.3 million hours viewed, securing the No. 2 spot on Netflix’s global Top 10 chart.

In comparison, Peddi managed 1.9 million views and 6 million hours viewed, finishing at No. 5.

First Week Stats:

IKKA: 4.4M views, 10.3M hours viewed
Peddi: 1.9M views, 6.0M hours viewed

One might argue that Peddi’s Hindi version is yet to stream on Netflix. However, IKKA is a small, direct-to-OTT film made on just a fraction of Peddi’s budget.

The contrast becomes even more striking when compared with Blast, a Tamil action film starring Arjun. In its first week, Blast generated 3.1 million views and 7.4 million hours viewed, significantly outperforming Peddi despite being a much smaller film in terms of scale and hype.

Considering Peddi’s massive budget, Pan India positioning, star cast, and extensive promotional campaign, its first week Netflix performance can only be described as underwhelming. The official streaming numbers indicate that the film is a massive disappointment even on OTT.
