Peddi has opened to a moderate start in North America, as we reported earlier. The film collected only $1.9 million from Wednesday premieres and Thursday Day 1, which is considerably lower than early expectations.

With North America break-even set at a steep $6.4 million, the road ahead remains curious.

The Telugu version contributed the bulk of the opening with around $1.89 million from Premiere + Day 1.

The surprising part, however, is the Hindi performance.

Peddi Hindi collected only $17K in North America from Wednesday premieres and Thursday Day 1. This is a negligible number, especially considering the significant promotional efforts Ram Charan and the team invested in the North market.

Those efforts did not translate into any meaningful spillover among North America’s Hindi audience.

Tamil numbers, which are traditionally minimal in this market, remained negligible again at just $650.

Once again, this opening suggests that Peddi is primarily a Telugu market film. In hindsight, the focus may have benefited more from strengthening buzz among Telugu audiences rather than chasing expansion into the Hindi belt.
