Ram Charan’s Peddi continues its theatrical run after reportedly grossing around Rs. 300 crores worldwide, according to the producers. However, the film is once again in the news, this time over the much-discussed re-edited version that director Buchi Babu Sana recently announced.
At the success press meet held on June 14, director Buchi Babu Sana confirmed that the re-edit process had been completed and that the updated version would start screening in theatres from Wednesday, June 17.
“We have added around three scenes. Two of them are related to the heroine. There will also be a scene featuring Jagapathi Babu,” Buchi Babu explained.
The announcement generated considerable interest among fans, especially because many viewers had earlier expressed disappointment over some objectionable scenes and the characterization of Janhvi Kapoor in the original version.
However, even though June 17 has arrived, confusion remains among fans regarding whether the new footage has actually been added to the film.
The main reason for the uncertainty is the lack of any official confirmation from the production house, Vriddhi Cinemas. Despite the director publicly announcing the changes, the production banner has not yet released a social media post or official update confirming that the revised version has been rolled out across theatres.
As a result, fans are now wondering whether the scenes have been added as planned or whether the rollout has been delayed for some reason.
For now, audiences are waiting for feedback from morning-show viewers and any official clarification from the makers. Once reports start emerging from theatres, fans will get a clearer picture of whether the promised Janhvi Kapoor scenes, Jagapathi Babu sequence, and additional character moments have actually made their way into Peddi’s theatrical version.
