Recently, a grand success meet was organized, which was attended by Ram Charan, to repeatedly highlight the box office performance of Peddi. The makers also decided to make significant changes to the theatrical version of the film.
The sports action drama, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, received a mixed response after release. Several viewers expressed their anger over the handling of Janhvi Kapoor’s character, while others felt that certain character arcs and emotional moments were missing from the screenplay.
At the latest success press meet organized on Sunday, June 14, the team, along with producer Satish Kilaru and director Buchi Babu Sana, claimed that Peddi has emerged as the highest-grossing South Indian film of 2026. Buchi Babu Sana also confirmed that the re-edit process has been completed.
According to him, the updated version will start playing in theatres from this Wednesday.
“The re-edit work has been finished. From this Wednesday (June 17), we are adding all the deleted scenes back into the theatrical prints,” Buchi Babu said.
He revealed that the team has added around three scenes, including two important scenes related to Janhvi Kapoor’s character.
“We have added around three scenes. Two of them are related to the heroine. There will also be a scene featuring Jagapathi Babu,” he explained.
The director further stated that the revised version will include character roundups that some audiences felt were missing in the original screenplay.
In another major move, the makers have reduced ticket prices across the Telugu states in an effort to attract more family audiences to theatres.
Producer Satish Kilaru confirmed the decision and said ticket prices have been brought down to normal levels from today.
“Ticket rates have been reduced from today. That is why theatres are looking packed,” he said.
The makers have already claimed that the film has crossed Rs. 350 crores at the box office. According to trade analysts, the film needs around Rs. 500 crores in worldwide gross collections to break even.
The coming days will reveal whether the reduced ticket prices and newly added scenes, introduced almost two weeks after the film’s theatrical release, can improve audience reception and give Peddi a stronger run at the box office.
