The 8.45 AM show of every film on Friday at Prasads Multiplex is a delight to movie buffs. Prasads witness the highest crowd than any other multiplex for this show every Friday.
Later YouTube Channels started the trend of FDFS Talks at the multiplex. We see numerous channel representatives thrusting mikes into the mouths of the audience asking them to speak about the film.
These videos appear on YouTube as Public Talks. Slowly, some people do funny antics and exaggerate movie reviews. These videos become viral on social media and bring popularity to the people in the video but damage the prospects of the film.
A guy called Lakshman who used to say film talks with such funny antics has now become a film actor. He is seen in a small role in Samajavaragamana as well as a goon who rags women.
Youtube Channels started employing people to give exaggerated reviews so that their videos get more views and more revenue.
Later on, this trend became even more dangerous. Public Talk coordinators have come up. They offer film producers to supply people for giving positive Public Talks. They quote a bulk amount to help the producers.
So, the entire Public Talk thing became a mess. With the viral videos of the so-called Public Talks, we never know what is real or what is staged.
Recently, we have seen people beat a person who spoke negatively about Adipurush. The video was trending all day on social media and some industry biggies decided that enough is enough.
In an exclusive interview with M9.news, Suniel Narang said, “This Public Talks on YouTube is such a nuisance and damaging the films. I rang up Imax management and asked them about allowing this nuisance in their premises”.
The impact is seen already. Prasads Multiplex barred these people from their premises for the last two weeks. Security is deployed to not allow them.
But then, this ban led to something worse. These YouTube Channels started doing these ‘Public Talks’ outside the main gate of Prasads Multiplex now. They started occupying the road creating Traffic issues.
The Security of Prasads Multiplex is trying to control them but that is something outside their purview. So, their control is very limited.
Probably, it’s time for the industry biggies to alert the local police to curb this menace forever.
