M9 News journalist Nishant recently sat down with the team of Kaantha-Rana Daggubati, Dulquer Salmaan, and Bhagyashri Borse ahead of the film’s release on November 14.
Talking about the story, Rana said, “Besides the 1950s film industry backdrop, Kaantha has a very interesting story about human nature greed, jealousy, and more. It will make a very engaging watch, and we are confident about it.”
Addressing the recent controversy involving Thyagaraja Bhagavathar’s grandson, who approached the Madras High Court seeking a permanent injunction on the release, Rana and Dulquer clarified, “It’s complete fiction. If it were really about his life, we would’ve approached the family and acquired rights. They’ll understand once the film releases.”
When asked if the “1000 crore obsession” among stars was a bad aftereffect of Baahubali, both actors gave insightful answers. They discussed how fame, money, and ambition influence the industry and whether chasing record-breaking numbers has changed filmmaking culture.
Rana also opened up about Suresh Productions becoming less active after the demise of Ramanaidu and addressed claims that he failed to capitalise on his Baahubali success.
Meanwhile, Dulquer Salmaan shared insights about Lokah, recalling the challenges they faced, including being unable to sell even the film’s music rights initially. He also revealed a promising update about Lokah’s second part.
