A few years ago, a huge controversy took place when Vishwak Sen walked out of a project during the last minute directed by Tamil actor Arjun Sarja, which triggered a heated dispute. Arjun came all the way to Hyderabad and conducted a press meet, where he slammed Vishwak Sen and made serious allegations against him. After this, Vishwak Sen responded by explaining the circumstances that forced him to exit the film and clarified his side of the story.
After a few days, the controversy gradually died down. For some time, it appeared that Arjun had shelved the project entirely. However, he later revived it and completed the film. That movie is Seethapayanam. In this film, Arjun’s daughter Aishwarya Arjun plays the female lead, while Kannada actor Niranjan Sudhi plays the main hero. Arjun himself appears in an important role, along with his nephew Dhruva Sarja, and senior actors Prakash Raj and Sathyaraj. The team has officially announced the release date.
Seethapayanam is scheduled to release on February 14 as a Valentine’s Day special. The interesting twist is that Vishwak Sen’s new film is releasing just one day earlier, on February 13. Initially, the movie was planned for release in the first week of April, but the team later preponed it and announced the February release nearly a month in advance. Now, Arjun’s film has been scheduled for the same weekend.
Some believe Arjun’s team intentionally chose this date knowing that Vishwak Sen’s film was releasing, expecting the old controversy to resurface and help with publicity. Others feel Arjun may be aiming for a direct box office clash with Vishwak Sen and make him realize that he potentially lost out on a good film. If both films stick to these dates, the media will inevitably revisit the past controversy during promotions. It will be interesting to see how Vishwak Sen and Arjun respond when those old issues are brought up again at the time of release.
