One of the renowned editors of Indian cinema Akkineni Sreekar Prasad has achieved a rare feat. He now holds a Limca record for editing films in 15 languages, including foreign ones. For the year 2014, he has entered the Limca Book of Records with this feat, which is easily unbeatable.
Known for editing films such Okkadu and Manoharam, Prasad has been awarded the national award eight times for films such as Firaaq, The Terrorist and Raakh. No other Indian editor has achieved what this man has in the last few years. He has kept the reputation of receiving a national award every alternate year and has so far got awards from five different presidents.
Here’s wishing Sreekar Prasad will make us all proud with an Oscar for an English film. Let’s hope that day comes soon.
