Jayakrishna Ghattamaneni’s debut film Srinivasa Mangapuram is set to conclude its North American theatrical run with a gross of just around $25,000, making it one of the worst overseas performances by a notable Telugu release in recent times.
The film failed to generate any meaningful momentum from its opening day. Poor buzz, negative reviews, and weak word of mouth severely impacted its theatrical prospects. According to trade sources, the film is expected to close with a negative distributor share, meaning it could not even recover its basic release and operational expenses in the territory.
Despite the presence of veteran actors like Mohan Babu and the curiosity surrounding Jayakrishna Ghattamaneni‘s launch, the film failed to attract audiences, emerging as a massive commercial disaster across all territories.
The disappointing result is particularly unfortunate because the film marked the acting debut of a member of the Ghattamaneni family, with expectations that it would at least generate decent initial footfalls. Instead, it struggled right from the opening day and never showed signs of recovery.
With a North American finish of around $25,000 and heavy losses across markets, Srinivasa Mangapuram has ended its theatrical journey as one of the biggest Telugu box office washouts of the year.
