The world of Suriya’s next outing gets a quirky introduction with the title teaser. Directed by Jithu Madhavan, the filmmaker behind Aavesham, the film brings together Suriya’s mass image and the director’s peculiar storytelling style. The project, which was previously referred to as #Suriya47, has now been officially titled Scene. The makers have also confirmed a worldwide theatrical release for November 6, making it a Deepavali special.
The title teaser introduces DSP Premraj as an eccentric cop, with an intriguing voiceover highlighting his peculiar nature. His arrival at a crime scene builds curiosity, before Suriya gets his hero moment, followed by a stern warning inside the central prison that adds to the character’s mass appeal.
What stands out is Suriya’s transformation into the character. His gait, expressions, body language and dialogue modulation collectively create a distinct sense of attitude. The presentation also reflects Jithu Madhavan’s approach of presenting his heroes in distinctive avatars with unusual characterisations. Vineeth Agustine’s cinematography and Sushin Shyam’s background score add to the presentation.
