Disastrous 2025: Teja, PK, DQ, NBK, Prabhas Saviors

Telugu cinema 2025 upcoming films

2025 has been a tough year for Telugu cinema so far, with several big-budget films disappointing audiences. Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu, Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom, and Ram Charan’s Game Changer failed at the box office, raising serious concerns about the industry’s direction.

The final months of 2025, however, look brighter with several major releases lined up. Teja Sajja’s Mirai is set for September 12, 2025, and the trailer has already impressed viewers with its scale and visuals. Pawan Kalyan’s OG also promises a powerful story that could restore his box office standing.

Dulquer Salmaan’s Kaantha, a period drama, is expected to draw attention, while Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 is scheduled for December and is likely to carry forward the franchise’s success. These films are creating strong buzz among Telugu audiences and trade experts.

Alongside these, SSR’s Baahubali the Epic re-release, Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1, and Adivi Sesh’s Dacoit are also expected to attract large crowds. With such a line-up, the industry is hoping for a strong revival in the final quarter of the year.

If these films deliver both quality and commercial success, Telugu cinema could regain its place on the national stage. The closing months of 2025 may well mark a turning point, proving to be a much-needed boost for an otherwise disappointing year.
