The Paradise has reached the stage where the hype is almost a story by itself. Paid premieres are lined up tonight, and the buzz around Nani’s film has grown far beyond what is normally seen for a Tier-2 hero.
Bookings, fan celebrations and the constant chatter around the film have pushed The Paradise into a different zone. The pre-release mania is so high that comparisons with the buzz around bigger-star films have started doing the rounds. But that also creates a problem: the bigger the hype, the harder the film has to hit.
This is where Sreekanth Odela enters the picture. After creating a strong impression with Dasara, the director has taken up a much larger canvas with The Paradise. The film is arriving with enormous expectations, and tonight’s premieres will finally reveal whether the content has the strength to match the noise around it.
There is no shortage of attention at this point. The audience has already been pulled towards the theatres. Now comes the difficult part, giving them a film that makes all that hype feel justified.
The Paradise does not have to prove that it can create buzz anymore. That part is already done. From tonight, the question is whether Sreekanth Odela can turn Paradise Mania into a massive theatrical success.
