Every year we have a number of releases off which only very handful manage to excite us and be memorable. This year we have had a record release crossing 200 films. How many of them were made by newcomers and how many do we remember? Well here are top three debuts of the year 2014.
Run Raja Run:
Sujeeth who is popular for his short films, made his big screen debut with this film. The film not only established him as director but also brought back Sharwanand into limelight. The actor has been struggling to get decent hit from a long time got the biggest hit of his career thanks to the debutant.
Stylish presentation of hero, good music with cool visuals and fresh comedy were the main elements that worked to the advantage of the film and the director must be given brownie points for the same.
Karthikeya:
Chandoo Mondeti made a solid debut with Karthikeya which gave second consecutive success to actor Nikhil. Like the last film of actor Swamy Ra Ra, it was the strong script backed by slick presentation that gave him the success.
Integration of comedy into the narrative without any forced track with rich visuals and sharp dialogues were the plus for the debutant. Had the climax been on par with the rest of the film it would have been surely a blockbuster debut.
Oohalu Gusagusalade:
Actor Avasarala Srinivas turned director with this delicate romantic comedy. Aesthetics aside, he got a dreamy feel with soothing music and had us in splits with his subtle humour, which were a big plus for the film but in theatrical run and home viewing.
With a tighter script the actor cum director could sure be one of the major directors in future to look forward to.
Well, these are our top three choices for the year. We hope that they go onto make more movies unlike the debutants last year, some of whom are still struggling to get a film on floor.
