Finally, Vikram‘s long pending project Dhruva Natchathiram, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, is all set to hit the screens before October 31st.
Even though the shooting of Dhruva Natchathiram began in the year 2017, due to some financial issues the shooting got delayed multiple times and finally got wrapped up in 2021.
However, even after the film was completely ready, it was not released in theatres and financial issues grew into a major hurdle for its makers. While everyone part of the film has forgotten it and started concentrating on their own careers, director Gautham Vasudev Menon has still not left Dhruva Natchathiram behind and is continuously trying his best to release the film.
A few months ago, after multiple postponements, when the Madras High Court ordered the makers to release Dhruva Natchathiram before May 14th with a set of guidelines to ensure that all the parties involved in the film get paid, everyone believed that Dhruva Natchathiram would finally see the light of day. But shockingly, it was not released on May 14th either and the case was still ongoing in the Madras High Court.
In this scenario, according to reports in a recent hearing, director Gautham Vasudev Menon informed the Madras High Court that an investor has been finalised to facilitate the release of Dhruva Natchathiram before October 31st, 2026.
Consequently, the court has extended the release deadline of Dhruva Natchathiram and asked the director to submit documents verifying the reported 10.57 crore payment made to Vikram.
In response to the update, while some people believe that there are now positive signs regarding the release of Dhruva Natchathiram and claim that it will definitely be released before the end of this year, others suggest that the release drama of Dhruva Natchathiram will continue for a few more years.
They troll that Dhruva Natchathiram will only be released in 2100 and claim that the makers of this film are just continuing the court proceedings and sharing release updates only with the intention that the film should not be forgotten by Kollywood audiences and it seems like they didn’t really try to release the film.
Also, they note that the release updates for Dhruva Natchathiram have now become a joke, and people have settled into the mindset that it will definitely get postponed once again. Therefore, they claim that until the film is actually screened in theatres, no one will believe any release updates.
Ultimately, it remains to be seen whether Dhruva Natchathiram will be released before October 31st or whether it will get postponed again in the coming days.
