Borugadda Anil, a known rowdy sheeter, was an active supporter of the YSR Congress between 2019 and 2024. During that period, he used extremely offensive language against opposition leaders. His actions and statements often crossed acceptable limits.
To understand the seriousness, Borugadda Anil had earlier issued rape threats against Pawan Kalyan’s daughter. He has over 20 cases registered across multiple districts. After the change in government, he went into hiding and was later arrested.
Borugadda Anil spent several months in jail and was released in June this year. He was reportedly behind bars for around 240 days in different cases. After his release, he unexpectedly began giving interviews to YouTube channels.
In these interviews, he alleged that he was subjected to third degree treatment in jail. He directly blamed Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan for his alleged ordeal. These claims quickly attracted political attention and criticism.
Despite his support, even YSR Congress never openly associated with Borugadda Anil due to his language and criminal background. However, he now claims that leaders like Jagan Mohan Reddy and Kodali Nani helped him during his time in jail.
In a recent interview, Borugadda Anil alleged that Pawan Kalyan is a converted Christian who underwent baptism. The anchor attempted to clarify that Pawan Kalyan’s wife is Christian, not Pawan Kalyan himself, but Anil refused to accept it.
By making such statements, Borugadda Anil appears to be provoking Pawan Kalyan unnecessarily. The Deputy Chief Minister strongly projects himself as a supporter of Hindu values and a follower of Sanatan Dharma.
This positioning is also significant for Pawan Kalyan’s political alignment with the BJP leadership. Targeting such sensitive aspects could land Borugadda Anil in deeper trouble. His comments are being viewed as reckless.
The timing of these interviews raises questions. The new government is not even two years old. After spending 240 days in jail, attacking the ruling setup without any immediate political context seems unnecessary and risky.
