Former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had been arrested in a flimsy case and was sent to judicial remand. He has been locked in Rajahmundry Central Jail for 50 days now and the trial is yet to begin and the chargesheet is also not filed.
Chandrababu is A13 in this case. Usually, the accused are numbered based on the intensity of their involvement.
“Many people were arrested in this case in the last three years and none of them are in the jail. The highest number of days a person is in jail in this case is thirty-eight days but Chandrababu is in jail for 50 days. On average, most of the accused were out on bail in one week or a maximum of two weeks but it is not the case with Chandrababu,” Nara Lokesh said in a Pressmeet
The ACB court even rejected bail on medical grounds and the high court is yet to hear.
Supreme Court finished hearing the arguments in the Quash Petition and reserved the judgment on October 17th without giving a date. The judgment is likely to be out on November 9th i.e., around three weeks after the judgment was reserved.
Nara Lokesh is mincing no words in saying Jagan is manipulating the system to keep Chandrababu in jail.
The arrest before the elections is giving rise to doubts in the public that the government intends to lock him in jail for as many days as possible to avoid him going to the people.
