Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman, alongside Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, officially launched a landmark mega Credit Outreach Programme today in Narasaraopet, located in the Palnadu district.
Backed by an extensive security deployment of over 1,500 police personnel to ensure smooth operations, the high-profile financial event marks one of the largest district-level credit disbursement initiatives executed in the state.
Under this mega campaign, commercial banks and financial institutions have sanctioned a staggering ₹3,216 crore in institutional credit, directly benefiting 1,03,246 individual beneficiaries across the region.
The collaborative drive between the central and state administrations aims to bypass high-interest private moneylenders by embedding robust, affordable financial capital straight into the rural economy.
The credit framework scales across multiple vital sectors to inject direct liquidity into the grassroots ecosystem. In the agricultural segment, funds are being systematically channeled via Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) for crop cultivation, animal husbandry, and fisheries, alongside dedicated bank loans for cluster-based women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across all 28 mandals of the district.
Furthermore, small traders, youth entrepreneurs, and livelihood seekers are receiving significant capital allocations through central credit-linked schemes including the PM Mudra Yojana, PM SVANidhi, PM Vishwakarma, and the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).
Senior officials confirmed that the entire sanctioned credit volume will be actively delivered to the beneficiaries within a strict 30-day window. By driving comprehensive retail, MSME, and agricultural lending simultaneously, the strategic outreach seeks to exponentially enhance regional purchasing power, secure crop cycle stability, and create localized employment opportunities throughout the backward district.
