chandrababu-naidu Rankings to ministers

The other day in the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu released the rankings of the Ministers with files clearance being the criterion.

Interestingly, Chandrababu gave 6th rank to himself. Lokesh got 8th rank while Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan got 10th rank.

Farooq stood in 1st place while Vasamsetti Subhash was in the last place.

Janasena Supporters were angry that their leader was placed at 10th even though the CM himself and Lokesh are also not in good ranks either. Even though they are ranked better than Pawan Kalyan, their ranks are nothing to cheer about.

Keeping that aside, it is a puzzle while the ranks are released to the media.

It is important for the Chief Minister to continuously monitor the performance of his Ministers.

But when the list in which the CM, the Deputy CM, and the main Minister like Lokesh are not performing, it does not paint a good picture of the Government. It gives a chance to the Opposition to say that things are not working well in the Government.

Instead, Chandrababu should have apprised the ministers about the ranks and discuss the areas of improvements.

Releasing the ranks to the media do not make even an iota of good for the Government.

Yes, people can say Chandrababu was fair to rank himself and Lokesh realistically but in the broader political picture, those ranks will give a negative impression.

Also if Chandrababu continues to give these ranks, tomorrow if Lokesh and himself improves by leaps and bounds and if Pawan Kalyan does not due to various reasons.

Imagine CBN and Lokesh getting top ranks and Pawan Kalyan at the bottom of the table, it will create unnecessary headaches. Chandrababu either have to stop releasing then or face the heat from alliance partners. So these rankings are better discussed in private without releasing to the media.
