Botsa’s Daughter Anusha Loses Bondapalli ZPTC to TDP

Botsa Satyanarayana Daughter Anusha Election Defeat

Former Andhra Pradesh minister and senior YSRCP leader Botsa Satyanarayana’s daughter, Botsa Anusha, suffered defeat in the Bondapalli ZPTC election in Vizianagaram district on Saturday, November 7. TDP candidate Pasala Neeraja defeated her by a margin of 5,136 votes.

The result attracted political attention as Anusha was considered a contender for the Vizianagaram Zilla Parishad chairperson’s post. Her defeat came amid significant gains for the ruling TDP-led alliance in the MPTC and ZPTC elections.

Neeraja’s victory was welcomed by TDP and alliance supporters in Bondapalli, who celebrated the result. For YSRCP, the defeat meant losing an important contest involving the family of one of its senior leaders.

The Botsa family had fielded several members in the ZPTC elections across Vizianagaram district. Apart from Anusha in Bondapalli, Botsa’s daughter-in-law Pujitha contested from Garividi, while his sister Sangamreddy Venkata Lakshmi entered the contest from Gurla.

Another family member, Botsa Chaitanya, had filed a nomination for the Pusapatirega ZPTC seat. However, his nomination was rejected during scrutiny, preventing him from contesting the election.

Despite Anusha’s defeat, the family secured a victory in Garividi. YSRCP candidate Botsa Pujitha defeated TDP candidate Kimidi Sandhya by a reported margin of 1,599 votes.

Meanwhile, Siri Sahasra, daughter of former Zilla Parishad chairman Majji Srinivasa Rao, was also reported to have won the Terlam ZPTC seat on a TDP ticket.

Majji Srinivasa Rao, popularly known as Chinna Srinu, had joined TDP after leaving YSRCP. His daughter was also seen as a contender for the Vizianagaram Zilla Parishad chairperson’s position.

The election results highlighted the political contest involving the Botsa and Majji families in Vizianagaram district, particularly after their association with different parties in the latest local body elections.

While Anusha’s defeat was a notable result for TDP in Bondapalli, Pujitha’s victory in Garividi showed that the Botsa family continued to secure electoral support in parts of the district.

The results have added a new dimension to the competition for local leadership in Vizianagaram, with the Zilla Parishad chairperson’s selection remaining a separate political development.
