Ministers Have to Contest Polls, Not Officials: CBN

Chandrababu Naidu in Vizag meeting

CM Chandrababu Naidu urged ministers to take charge of their portfolios with full responsibility. He said that while officials can guide and advise, it is you, the ministers, who must handle every issue directly.

Chandrababu reminded ministers that their effectiveness shows when they ensure officers work efficiently, whether through firm direction or discussion. “You must remember that it’s the ministers who face elections, not the officers,” he said.

He expressed satisfaction with the progress made in 15 months, even after serving as CM for 15 years. Chandrababu asked ministers to monitor every project, ensure they are grounded properly, and coordinate their execution. He also stressed that ministers must explain the benefits of major investments to the public.

Highlighting development in Visakhapatnam, Chandrababu said companies like Google and TCS are turning Vizag into a major tech hub. He assured that thousands of jobs will follow. “Just as Mumbai represents the west, Vizag will stand for the east,” he shared.

He predicted that Vizag will become one of India’s most developed cities within 15 years. He said the number of work-from-home employees, currently 4.7 lakh, should rise to 10 lakh. Chandrababu also advised ministers to focus on protecting the Vizag Steel Plant and promoting the new railway zone among people.

Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan congratulated Chandrababu Naidu for securing the Google data centre for Vizag.
