The Supreme Court Bench of Justice Aniruddha Bose and Justice Bela M Trivedi pronounced the Judgement in Chandrababu Naidu’s Quash Petition after reserving it for over three months.
Both the Judges have delivered a split verdict indicating no resolution to the issue.
They took different opinions about the application of Section 17A.
Justice Aniruddha Bose was in line with Chandrababu’s argument while Justice Bela M Trivedi favored the AP CID.
Since there is a split verdict, the matter has been referred to the Chief Justice.
A larger bench will now hear the issue and most likely a resolution will be reached only after the elections.
This split verdict means the issue is wide open with no victory for either side.
On the part of TDP, the party will be happy at least this judgment will not interfere with the bail of Chandrababu.
