G.O. issued: No Volunteers In Elections

All village volunteers in Andhra Pradesh are ordered to stay away from the election activities until further notice by the Election Commission of India.

In an official statement released by the government of Andhra Pradesh, it was mentioned that the Chief Electoral Officer asked all ward and village volunteers not to take part in any kind of election activities, according to the EC guidelines.

Clear instructions are passed to the collectors and district magistrates to make sure that the village volunteers are not assigned to any election-related work nor shall they act as polling agents for any candidate in the elections.

The village volunteer system was introduced by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, after his win in the 2019 Assembly Elections.
