While Karnan will continue as the Commissioner of GHMC, Srijana will be the Commissioner for CMC and Vinay Krishna Reddy will be the Commissioner of MMC.

The 150 divisions under Greater Hyderabad have become 243 as per delimitation. In merged municipalities and municipal corporation 57 divisions have been created.

The government decided to split GHMC that had 300 divisions in total for ease of administration and decentralization of governance. The three corporations have been created under GHMC Act 1955, Section 3 (1).

Many citizens are welcoming the move as GHMC limits were being expanded. Those in political circles too feel, decentralization will do away with concentration of power and ensure localisation of solutions to area-specific issues.
