Telugu Desam Party and Janasena have made their alliance official. With this alliance, Kapu voters are likely to tilt towards the candidates of this coalition.
This is one community that will play a vital role in Godavari districts which have more than 30 seats. It looks like Jagan Mohan Reddy is very worried about losing this vote bank.
Reports are that Mudragada Padmanabham is asking for five seats in the Kakinada district to join the YSR Congress and the party is ready to give him three seats. Kakinada Rural, Jaggampeta, and Peddapuram are the seats that are being offered.
Mudragada did not win an election since 1999. He last contested in the 2014 election as an independent from the Prathipadu constituency and lost his deposit.
He became active after 2014 to trouble Chandrababu Naidu at the behest of Jagan Mohan Reddy. He lost his credibility completely in the community when he dropped the Kapu Reservations issue immediately after Jagan came to power.
He almost became a Zero when Jagan dropped the 5% quota earmarked by Chandrababu in the EBC quota. Bringing Mudragada into the party is nothing but a desperate move by Jagan to counter the TDP and Janasena alliance.
If he is offered three seats, YSR Congress’s condition is nothing less than pathetic.
