Former Chief Minister and YSRCP chief Jagan met his regional coordinators, district presidents, and Parliament observers on Tuesday. From liquor to medical colleges, he accused Chandrababu of several irregularities.
Jagan said Chandrababu had no real interest in governance. He accused him of focusing only on making money from projects instead of serving the people.
According to Jagan, state revenues are shrinking while the incomes of Chandrababu, Lokesh, and their benamis keep growing. “Dochuko, panchuko, teesuko” is their policy, he alleged.
Jagan defended his government’s liquor policy, saying every bottle was quality checked. He said his administration closed belt shops and cancelled illegal permits to ensure transparency.
In contrast, he accused Chandrababu’s government of running a liquor mafia. He said liquor shops were allotted to his followers and the entire distribution system was taken over.
The YSRCP chief alleged that the ruling party was selling adulterated liquor. He claimed that despite people dying from it, Chandrababu remained indifferent.
Jagan criticised the government for destroying the public health system. He said government schools and hospitals were being neglected and that scams in fertilizers and education were growing.
He said medical colleges started by the YSRCP were being handed over to private groups. According to him, the number of government medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh was increased to 17, but the current government is giving them away.
Jagan also spoke about the misuse of land and funds in the capital project. He said the land requirement was doubled from 50,000 to 1,00,000 acres, and the project cost rose from ₹1 lakh crore to ₹2 lakh crore. He urged his party to take these facts to the people.
He announced a visit to the medical college in Narsipatnam on October 10. From October 10 to November 22, the YSRCP will hold a racchabanda programme to collect one crore signatures opposing private medical colleges.
Jagan said 500 signatures will be collected from each panchayat. Rallies will be held on October 28 in constituencies and on November 12 in districts. On November 23, all signatures will be submitted at district headquarters.
He added that on November 24, they will go to Vijayawada after hoisting the flag in all district headquarters, where the signatures will be submitted to the Governor.
