YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy often prefers to travel by road after landing from his helicopter for meetings, creating chaos across Andhra Pradesh. Traffic is blocked along his route, and YSRCP cadre are frequently seen driving recklessly during these road shows.
These events have become more about political display than public engagement. In Sattenapalli, a party worker tragically died after being run over during one such rally, yet the event continued. In Raptadu, Jagan’s helicopter was damaged when crowds crashed into barricades.
Police had earlier restricted these processions to 100 participants, but YSRCP repeatedly violated the rule, causing public anger and safety concerns. The growing frustration among citizens has now pushed authorities to take a firm stand.
This time, the Anakapalli police have officially denied permission for Jagan’s planned road show. He is scheduled to visit Makavaripalem on October 9 to review the construction progress of the medical college there.
YSRCP had requested approval for a 63-kilometre road convoy from Vizag to Makavaripalem. Citing public inconvenience and traffic disruptions, police refused the request. Instead, they permitted him to travel by helicopter and arranged a helipad near the medical college.
The police stated that this route ensures safety and avoids unnecessary chaos for commuters. Jagan is now expected to fly directly to Makavaripalem for his inspection instead of taking the road.
