The primary attribute of a leader is to safeguard his people. But then, it is only as far as they are in the legal ambit. Some leaders go out of their way to assist their leaders even when they commit some heinous crimes.

Looking at the current proceedings, Jagan appears to excel in this specific aspect. He never abandons his people when they face difficulties after getting caught by agencies.

A few days ago, we have seen Ongole MP Magunta Sreenivasula Reddy questioned by the ED in Delhi Liquor Scam. The MP’s son is already arrested in the same case and is still in jail. The Chief Minister is yet to respond on the issue let alone take any action on the MP.
Now, it is the turn of another MP YS Avinash Reddy. The Kadapa MP along with his father, Bhaskar Reddy are accused of being involved in YS Vivekananda Reddy’s murder and tampering the evidence.

Bhaskar Reddy is already arrested and Avinash is making the last bid attempt to prevent arrest.
Vivekananda Reddy is Jagan’s own uncle, his father’s brother. Even then, Jagan is doing every bit to save Avinash. We have seen Avinash call a pressmeet standing before the CM camp office in Kadapa after his father’s arrest.
Jagan believes leaders and relatives alive are more important than relatives passed away. Also, he believes men relatives (Bhaskar Reddy and Avinash Reddy) are important than women relatives like Sunitha, Sharmila, etc.
Jagan believes this attitude of standing by the leaders and relatives even though they are accused of scams and crimes makes one a strong leader. He believes followers stay with the leader under such leadership.
Probably, he believes he can lobby with central leaders and somehow delay the cases like his own cases.
But then, for the good of society, this is a lesson people should pray no other leader should learn.
